Tackling the regulatory barriers that are severely limiting New York organizations’ ability to activate and use public spaces for community programming

Untaped is a coalition-based project aimed at finding solutions to streamline the activation of NYC’s streets, sidewalks, parks and plazas.

Led by The Design Trust for Public Space, City Parks Foundation and the Trust for Public Land, and in partnership with community-based organizations in all five boroughs including Uptown Grand Central, The Brownsville Community Justice Center, The Point Community Development Corporation, Queensboro Dance Festival, and Alice

Austen House, Untaped is tackling long-standing policy problems faced by public space users.

Think Place Agency’s Principal, Nur Asri, serves as Public Space Policy Fellow and leading stakeholder engagement and policy research to inform recommendations to the incoming Mayor and the new NYC Administration.
