Nur Asri, AICP (she/her)

As a stakeholder engagement, community development, and project management professional, Leigh brings experience leading community-driven initiatives across the United States and Australia. She specializes in facilitating collaboration among government agencies, community groups, environmental and nonprofit organizations, and Tribal Nations to address complex public policy and urban challenges.
Leigh most recently served as a Senior Associate at a strategic communication and engagement firm, where she led stakeholder engagement strategies for high-profile government clients. Her work included developing inclusive outreach processes, facilitating public meetings and workshops, and ensuring underserved communities had a seat at the table in decision-making processes.
Armed with a decade of experience advising hundreds of communities across North America and supporting cross-sector clients on real estate, placemaking, and destination development strategies, Nur has worked on award-winning projects like the City of Cambridge Retail Strategic Plan, Downtown 2.0 Livingston County District Assessment, Puerto Rico Bottom-Up Destination Plans, and more. She has also published thought leadership pieces on urban retail and economic development strategies with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, International Economic Development Council, American Planning Association, and the Design Trust for Public Space.
Nur has lived in major cities across the world including Singapore, London, and New York, where she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Urban Planning, Design and Management from the University College of London, and a Master's of Science in City & Regional Planning from Pratt Institute. She currently serves as Public Space Management Fellow at the Design Trust for Public Space. She is a proud resident of Brooklyn NY and enjoys her neighborhood parks with her wonderful new family of three.
