Developing a node-focused retail market analysis to inform placemaking strategies for an economic development organization
In partnership with Camoin Associates, Think Place Agency is leading the development of a retail market analysis for three micro-nodes of commercial activity to help inform the City’s Economic Development Strategy. In addition, our team is supporting the facilitation of stakeholder engagement efforts, focused on retail entrepreneurship, to better understand stakeholder perceptions around issues in the business environment (competitor markets and business growth barriers) and regulatory frameworks.
Covington is a unique destination that benefits from close proximity to Cincinnati, separated only by a 10-minute walk across a bridge on the Ohio River. Early results of the study indicate significant potential to grow the retail base in the northern, riverfront neighborhoods of the City, closely aligning with planned capital investments at the famed Covington Central Riverfront property.
The final plan is slated to be released Summer 2025.
